KUALA LUMPUR: Advancecon Holdings Bhd has signed power purchase agreements (PPAs) for solar generation capacity totalling 993.96 kilowatt peak (kWp).

The earthworks and civil engineering services specialist said its subsidiary Advancecon Solar Sdn Bhd had signed PPAs with Oon Corp Resources (M) Sdn Bhd (Oon Corp) and Prominent Image Sdn Bhd (Prominent Image) to generate a total capacity of 993.96 kWp under the Net Energy Metering scheme.

Advancecon group chief executive officer Datuk Phum Ang Kia said the PPAs were a positive milestone in its efforts to successfully kick off new solar venture.

"This positive development is in support of the nation's commitment in adopting renewable energy sources. This would be a complementary recurring income venture to our core segment of providing earthworks and civil engineering services," Phum said in a statement today.

Advancecon Solar will design, construct, install, own, operate and maintain a solar photovoltaic energy generating system at Prominent Image's premise in Rawang industrial estate, Selangor, and two premises of Oon Corp in Senawang industrial estate, Negri Sembilan.

"The solar photovoltaic energy generating system for Prominent Image will have a final generation capacity of 342.32 kWp after all conclusive surveys and design work were carried out," it said.

According to Advancecon, its commercial operation date was expected to start in the first quarter of the calendar year 2021, and will be for a duration of 21 years.

The installation at Oon Corp's premises would have a final generation capacity of 651.64 kWp, it added.
