ADVANCECON SECURES 2 ECRL CONTRACTS WORTH RM80.8 MLN
KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 2 -- Earthworks and civil engineering services specialist, Advancecon Holdings Bhd has secured two contracts totalling RM80.8 million, to provide subgrade and related works for the East Coast Rail Link (ECRL).
Awarded by China Communications Construction (ECRL) Sdn Bhd, the first contract valued at RM53.7 million will commence from Sept 7, 2020 to Jan 6, 2023 while the second contract worth RM27.1 million will commence on Sept 7, 2020 to Sept 6, 2022.
Advancecon’s group chief executive officer, Datuk Phum Ang Kia said the contracts prepared the company to be well-positioned and more competitive in future ECRL tenders by virtue of its mobilised resources.
“These contract wins are a timely boost for the group’s existing earthworks and civil engineering works orderbook, and signifies the confidence our client has in us to be part of the country’s biggest infrastructure development.
“The government’s ongoing plan to implement the ECRL in the next few years is certainly positive for the group’s future prospects within this infrastructure mega project,” he said in a statement today.
He said Advancecon’s orderbook expanded to RM771.1 million following the newly-secured contracts, with earnings visibility at a minimum of 28 months.
The group’s earthworks and civil engineering works orderbook contains infrastructure projects such as the West Coast Expressway, Pan Borneo Highway and new roads in Sarawak under the Upper Rajang Development Agency, and property development projects including Setia Alamsari (South), Eco Ardence, and Nilai Impian.
